Here is Paddy’s verdict on David Wagner’s Norwich City, who flattered to deceive, in fresh evidence of a recurring theme since the German’s arrival.
• Angus Gunn 8
The difference between an unsatisfying goalless draw and a second consecutive Championship away defeat. Series of excellent first half stops. Foiled Callum Lang with his legs and gathered the follow up.
Then an excellent reaction to race from his line and smother a Will Kean effort from the edge of his penalty area. Wayward kick went to Wigan’s midfield unit but he retrieved the situation when he parried Lang’s long range shot and earned a slice of luck when Keane slipped as he approached the rebound.
Athletic stop in first half stoppage time to tip over Lang’s half-volley into the turf that was arrowing towards the top corner. Quieter second half but got his angles right to fortably collect Lang’s ambitious free kick.
