The future of a man, who was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash, is in the hands of an independent body while it looks to see if there's enough evidence to go to trial.
Police confirmed the case around a man in his 20s, who was arrested earlier this year in relation to an incident in St Stephens roundabout, has been passed to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
The collision happened on Thursday, December 21 last year, between an Audi and Skoda, at the St Stephens roundabout causing long and widespread delays.
Police have since passed all its evidence to the CPS detailing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A specially trained lawyer at the CPS will review all of the evidence and together, with a second reviewing lawyer, decide whether there is enough evidence to proceed to a trial.
Officers had been pursuing the Skoda in Rose Lane and Market Avenue for failing to stop but it ended shortly before the crash due to safety reasons.
