An inquest has opened into the death of a 30-year-old who's mother was at the centre of a court battle last year to save his life.
Jordan Tooke, who suffered from severe learning disabilities and had end-stage kidney disease, was born in Norwich on June 21, 1994. He died on August 31, 2024 at the N&N.
Senior coroner, Yvonne Blake, read out the doctor's report which stated: "The medical cause of death was florid acute bronchopneumonia."
In October last year, Jordan's mother, Camilla Tooke, was "overjoyed" after winning a court battle for her son's life-saving treatment.
Doctors said Mr Tooke would need to be sedated three times a week in order to be given dialysis and this would not be in his best interests.
However Mrs Tooke fought for her son to receive the treatment as he could die within months without it.
Mr Justice Hayden ruled in favour of Mr Tooke’s mother after considering arguments at a hearing at the Court of Protection.
Jordan's inquest to be heard on March 18, 2025, at Norfolk Coroner's Court.
