In a time when Post Office branches are closing around the country, one Norwich Post Office has proven that its services are vital to a new generation of people.

The Post Office branch at the UEA serves 1,100 people each week - with around 900  customers who are students and staff at the university.

Just in the last two years, folk have lost several city Post Office services, including in Prince of Wales Road, Queens Road in Lakenham and The Cellar House pub in Eaton.

However, the popularity of the branch at the university shows that there is a new generation of people now using the services.

"However, I think one reason the Post Office is becoming increasingly popular is that so much shopping is done online now, especially among the younger generation.

“As well as buying items online, many students also sell items which means they need somewhere nearby, that’s quick and efficient, where they can easily drop their items off to.

"As more and more students develop side hustles, I think we’ll certainly continue to see a high demand for Post Office services."
