Services were cancelled after a person was hit by a train on the Norwich to London line.
The incident happened between Witham and Ipswich and the line between the two stations was blocked while the emergency services are at the scene.
Routes from London Liverpool Street to Norwich, Clacton-on-Sea, Colchester and Harwich were affected.

Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until further notice.

At around 5.50pm, Greater Anglia confirmed that all lines had reopened.
A spokesman said: "All lines have now re-opened following an earlier line closure.
"However, there are still residual delays and some amendments affecting our services whilst we try to get trains running to their advertised times again."
