The Met Office has extended a yellow weather warning as heavy rain is set to bring the potential for flooding and travel disruption.
The warning for rain is now in place between 6am today until 9am on Friday.
It was originally in place between 5pm today until 10am tomorrow.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: "Heavy showers and some thunderstorms will occur during today, potentially becoming more organised across a swathe of Wales and into central and eastern England.
"10mm to 15mm of rain could occur within an hour from the heavy showers during today with a few places possibly seeing 30mm over a few hours.

"There still remains some uncertainty in the details for Thursday evening and overnight, but some locations may see up 20mm to 30mm of rain in two to three hours and perhaps 40mm to 60mm in three to six hours.
"Given the recent very wet weather, this will bring the potential for further flooding and transport disruption."
People are urged to be cautious of "spray and sudden flooding" on the roads leading to dangerous driving conditions.
There is a small chance of flooding to homes and businesses and there may also be delays and cancellations to train and bus services and power cuts.
