A weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued across Norfolk.
The Met Office has put a yellow weather warning in place for Thursday lasting from midday until midnight.
It comes after the the UK Health Security Agency and Met Office issued a heat health alert for the start of the week with temperatures set to soar across Norfolk.
According to the forecaster, heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop later in the week and may lead to some disruption.
Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and road closures and there is a small chance that communities could become cut off by flooded roads.
There is also a slight chance that power cuts and loss of other services could occur.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: "While some areas will remain dry, thunderstorms are likely to develop this afternoon and evening from the east and move relatively slowly westwards or north-westward.
"Heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely to break out across parts of England and Wales on Thursday afternoon.
"The exact location of showers is still uncertain and some places will stay dry all day.
"However, where the showers do occur they could be torrential, with the additional hazards of lightning, hail and gusty winds.
"The heaviest showers could result in 20mm to 30 mm within an hour, with 24-hour accumulations possibly reaching as much as 70mm to 90 mm where multiple showers affect the same location."
