Police investigations are ongoing but the community has also started to help by planning its own searches.

On Tuesday evening, a thorough search of the Mousehold Heath area was planned in a public Facebook group and its organiser later revealed the turnout had been "unbelievable".

One participant said around 60 people joined the efforts around Mousehold and Dussindale.

Another search has been planned for Wednesday and dozens of people are offering their assistance.
