Drivers are set to face disruption on major routes near the city during roadworks costing £500,000.
Part of the NDR, officially known as the A1270 Broadland Northway, will be closed at the Postwick Bridge later this month.
The A1042 Yarmouth Road at the Postwick Hub junction and the A47 westbound slip roads will also be closed.

The work is expected to take six weeks to complete and will be split into two phases.
The first phase on the NDR will begin on June 17 and last three weeks.
It will include repairs to the bridge deck surfacing, faulty sub-surface drainage and waterproofing beneath the road surface.
A temporary repair was carried out in November to allow the road to be fully open until this summer when permanent repairs could be carried out.

The work consists of removing the surfacing on the three southbound lanes, cleaning the concrete deck, applying new waterproofing material and replacing the road surfacing.
A northbound road closure will be in place, allowing southbound traffic to be redirected on to the northbound lane to create a one-way system.
This will allow access to the A47 and the Postwick Park & Ride site to be maintained.
Northbound traffic will be able to use a short diversion via Yarmouth Road, Broadland Way and Poppy Way.
The second phase on Yarmouth Road will begin on July 8 for three weeks, taking place overnight from 8pm to 6am.
Work will include the replacement of the old worn-out road surface across the Postwick Hub junction.
Road markings will be refreshed and the traffic detector loops which are connected to the traffic signals will be recut.
A full road closure of the A1042 Yarmouth Road as well as the A47 westbound slip roads at Postwick will be in place for the duration of the works.
A diversion route will redirect drivers wishing to enter or exit the A47 westbound.
The work coincides with the planned overnight closures of the A47 at Brundall by National Highways as part of its A47 Blofield to North Burlingham Dualling Project.
