The family of an "inspirational" swimming coach and athlete have issued a tribute following her death last month.
Jane Blackwell, in her 60s, died while cycling on Newmarket Road following a collision with a red Renault Laguna on Sunday, August 20.
Her daughter Sarah Lenton praised Ms Blackwell's "active spirit" which drove her to complete countless triathlons, represent Team GB and finish a half Iron Man challenge.
“She was always looking for the next challenge or adventure and motivating and inspiring others with her fitness achievements," said the 34-year-old primary teacher.
Mrs Blackwell first started swimming for Norwich Penguins at St Augustine's pool at the age of 10 and her love of all things aquatic led her to become a coach at several city clubs.
A colleague of Mrs Blackwell's at City of Norwich Swimming Club, where she worked as a junior coach, paid tribute to her "passion to encourage young swimmers" for more than a decade.
When she had time away from public commitments, Mrs Blackwell was building a home gym and studying nutrition with plans to retire as a personal trainer, alongside caring for her two grandchildren.
"She loved those children so much," said Sarah, "we would often go away on little holidays in Wells-next-the-sea, and she was the most amazing nanna.
"One of her proudest moments was competing for Great Britain at the European Triathlon Championship in Valencia, but she wasn't only impressive in competitions.
“She'd just achieved an eight-minute plank which just shows how fit she was despite her age."
Her commitment to encouraging and supporting young people has been honoured with a JustGiving page set up to fund teenagers who want to complete a Level One swimming qualification.
There will be a service held on Wednesday, October 4 at 3pm at Greenacres for anyone who wishes to pay their respects to Ms Blackwell.
