UPDATE: Norwich Theatre Royal reveals reason The Rocky Horror Show was halted
It is understood the cast were midway through a song.
Shortly after, a white screen was brought down.
One theatre goer said the performance resumed around 40 minutes after it was stopped, but there was another 10 minute pause while the stage was reset before the beginning of act two.
The theatre-goer said: "The audience did their best to amuse themselves after a while, with a group of ladies in fancy dress leading the stalls in a rendition of the chorus of Time Warp, before getting the auditorium to sing happy birthday to one of their party."
The Theatre Royal has now revealed that the reason was due to "unprecedented heavy rain" with the full statement here.
