Jarrolds has been granted permission to revamp some former offices at its flagship store into a spa and beauty salon.
The Retreat day spa is set to expand into the first and second floors of the department store as Norwich City Council approves the designs.
The proposed plans include an additional three single treatment rooms, a double treatment room, three manicure stations, two pedicure stations and a bar.
Currently, the space is used as offices and is directly above the part of the store used as a Mac Cosmetics concession.

The plans first emerged at the start of September when group marketing director, Sam Edwards, said: “We are thrilled to announce the upcoming expansion of the Retreat at Jarrolds, creating a more luxurious space that will allow us to offer an even wider range of personalised beauty treatments.
"With our enhanced facilities and expanded services on the way, we look forward to welcoming both our loyal clients and new visitors to discover the ultimate in relaxation and rejuvenation, right in the heart of the city.”
Jarrolds now has three years to start the work at the site.
