The Salvation Army has launched its 'Be a Star' Christmas Present Appeal.
The appeal asks the Norwich community to donate new toys to help families struggling over the festive season.
Last year, Norwich Citadel Salvation Army distributed more than 700 gifts and anticipates a greater need for support this year.
Major Tracey Bale, who leads The Salvation Army at Norwich Citadel, said: “The Salvation Army’s ‘Be a Star’ appeal is an opportunity for people in our communities to embrace the spirit of Christmas and give to families and individuals who have very little.

"We are incredibly grateful for the public’s generosity over the years and hope this year our appeal will be able to bring some respite to those who are struggling the most."
The churches on St Giles Street and Boundary Road will collect donations of new unwrapped toys and non-perishable food from October 28 until December 22.
People can also make a financial donation by searching Norwich Citadel Corps Salvation Army at justgiving.com.
The Salvation Army will distribute the gifts to local children and families in need.
