There have been sightings of Steve Coogan across Norwich this week as he films his latest Alan Partridge series.

Coogan was spotted filming at Elm Hill on Wednesday by the eagle-eyed staff members at Olive's.

The cafe, which even has a private hire suite named after the comedy character, posted a photo of the actor dressed in his Partridge attire while he waited between scenes under an umbrella.

Chris Smith, the owner of Christophe's Crepes, fulfilled a lifelong ambition on Thursday when he met Coogan as he left Yalm Foodhall, after enjoying some tacos from Baha Kitchen.

Mr Smith, who has an outlet in Yalm, managed to rush from his home just in time after a friend told him his idol was there.

"I'm a massive fan so I got straight in the car to meet him," he said. "He was really nice and wasn't in a rush.

Coogan is currently filming the six-part documentary series And Did Those Feet... with Alan Partridge.

The series follows the Norfolk-born broadcaster as he reintegrates into British life after a year working in Saudi Arabia.

With the move leaving a deep sense of unease, Partridge goes on a quest to understand what is going on with Britain and his own mind.

Jon Petrie, BBC director of comedy commissioning, said: "The show firmly cements Alan Partridge as a national treasure.

"This look into the state of the nation through a unique lens promises to further bolster the already iconic repertoire of the most legendary comedy character in the UK.”

In November, more than 400 people queued to meet Partridge at a book signing in Norwich, with fans travelling from across the world to see the star in his spiritual home.
